about to stash these under the couch. can you believe it? |
you all know how good husband and i are at saving money.
and about my newest hobby since moving to the great, white, north.
couponing.
usually, i only coupon on things we would eat anyway.
and natural things, real food, type of things.
diced tomatoes, spices, beans, eggs.
and household items.
toilet paper, foil, parchment paper, coffee filters.
husband loves cereal.
and yes, we know it's not considered a whole food.
and yes, we still buy it.
but, only when the stores are practically giving it away.
which they do, every couple of months.
today we went to our local a & p, armed with our flyer and coupons.
here is the deal we got.
in our first transaction:
8 boxes of kellogs brand cereal for FIFTY cents a box.
and then the store gave us $8.00 back in a catalina.
in the second transaction:
24 rolls of the GOOD kind of toilet paper, for $4.00.
it was originally priced at $17.
was on sale for $12.99.
we had a coupon for $1.50 off.
and the $8.00 catalina.
moral of the story.
we paid 8 dollars.
and walked away with enough cereal for two months.
and toilet paper for....forever.
the high you get from a transaction like this
is AMAZING.
you've got to try it.
You are my inspiration!!! Amazing deals, that must have felt great :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! We have started couponing as well. Without my beloved Publix around, you have to get creative!
