latest adventure.

as i have said before, we live in the wealthiest area of the united states.
so wealthy it is known as the gold coast.
this weekend we took an adventure to THE wealthiest town in the gold coast.
new canaan.

we mapped out our route, thanks to wikipedia's list of historic homes in the area.
and after a quick stop at starbucks, thanks to MRose and her husband...we were off.

check out some of the beautiful homes we saw, below..

one thing is for sure.
these are the things husband and i both love on a good estate.
you know, like the one we will have in greenwich soon.

white, simple houses.
stone.
houses with turrets.
dark wooden garage doors.
red doors.
rounded, red doors.
houses with barns attached.
english countryside looking homes.
wooden shingles.
enjoy the view.

welcome to town.
love the simplicity.  and the black shutters.

town hall.

downtown area. so cute.

we are going to try to see a movie here soon!

if we hadn't done starbucks, this would have been my favorite place for a cup of coffee.  i know it.

do you love the front porch?  and turret?

the red door caught our attention.

doesn't this look like where mr. darcy should be living???

another red door.  i think i am in love.

check out the turrets here...whoa,

brown shingles.  so northeastern.  and growing on us.

can we have a red barn when we grow up?  please???

  1. I'll take the second white house with the red door. I wonder, do they deliver? My aunt and uncle lived in Darien when I was a kid. He was high up in some Corporation and they lived in one of those big white houses with 3 acres. Very nice. We used to go visit from our 1 bedroom apartment in the city (brooklyn) Talk about culture shock!!
